BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

    

This program is designed for Registered Nurses (RN) who did not receive a bachelor degree prior to certification, or who have since developed another specialization, or who want to consider going on for graduate studies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 120 semester/180 quarter credits
  2. 25% of studies in general education
  3. A maximum of 75% accepted from accredited and/or approved schools
  4. 25%-50% credits from core curriculum

PREREQUISITES:

An associate degree in nursing, plus an RN license; a recognized license in the field; certified professional membership in the field; or at least 75% of degree requirements completed, including any laboratory, practicum, clinical requirements, or licensure qualifications.

  1. Course Objectives: Student will learn to deal with and help suffering from grief and loss.

  2. Course Description: The concepts and theories of grief and loss, with a particular emphasis on the loss of a significant other. There will also be discussions about death and the dying person with the intent of assisting the care giver to deal more effectively with a person and/or family involved in a life-threatening experience.
