PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

|
An experimental program for those with demonstrated skills and formal training in the science of sports physical therapy.
|
|
|
|
REQUIREMENTS:
|
- 32-48 semester/48-72 quarter credits
- Critical Analysis, Annotated Bibliography, Proposal and Thesis
- Two years to complete all but a possible 9 credits
- 25%-50% concentration from core curriculum
- Minimum of 36 quarter credits through this program.

PREREQUISITES:
|
|
- A bachelor degree in this field; a recognized license in the field; certified professional membership in the field, including any laboratory, practicum, clinical requirements, or licensure qualifications.

- Course Description: A study of the changes in physiologic parameters with exercise. Includes muscle physiology and cardiovascular and respiratory responses to work. Basic exercise programs such as isokinetic and progressive resistive exercises are explored. Two lecture hours and two laboratory hours.

- Course Description: Emphasis in this course will be on the analysis of movement. Included will be the analysis of simple exercise patterns, locomotion and the evaluation of normal and abnormal gait patterns. The anatomic, biomechanic and neurophysiologic principles necessary to understand movement and movement analysis are presented.
