MASTER OF ARTS IN JOURNALISM

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

    

Graduate level program for experienced journalists who can demonstrate professional status as writers or journalists

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 32 semester/48 quarter credits
  2. Critical Analysis, Annotated Bibliography, Proposal and Thesis
  3. 25%-50% from core curriculum
  4. All but 9 credits must be completed in one or two years of study.

PREREQUISITES:

A prior degree or the equivalent in journalism, or in a related area, and/or substantive work experience in the field.

  2. Course Description: Advanced reporting techniques of the modern news reporter and broadcast journalist. Information gathering methods based on science research skills adapted for the mass media of communications. Investigation of local public issues through surveys, analysis of public documents, experimental design and content analysis of official reports.
